How it Began

Kelly and Adam’s story began as many do these days, online. It all started with a message…a very awkward message from Adam to Kelly, which she did not respond to. After a few days, and after realizing he’d probably put his foot in his mouth, Adam sent a second message. Luckily, Kelly responded to the second message (otherwise the rest of this story would be more awkward than the first message!) and after a few days of messaging each other, Adam asked if Kelly would like to meet.

They met on a chilly, drizzly December night at Churchill’s in downtown Savannah, quickly bonding over their shared love of Disney, an order of truffle fries and a pretzel with beer-cheese. As happy hour came to an end, Adam invited Kelly for a walk around downtown Savannah, since the rain had slowed to a mist.

December in Savannah is a magical time, with lights lining Broughton St and festive spirit in the air. Kelly had told Adam that Christmas was her favorite holiday, so he knew the first place to take her: the Christmas tree on Bull St. Adam stood aside while Kelly pulled out her phone for a selfie, not assuming anything on this first date, but Kelly told him to “Get over here, you,” so he did. It’s still one of their favorite pictures:

They walked for hours around Savannah, with Adam sharing bits of history and lore about the city, huddling close together in the chilly evening air. Eventually it was time to go, and Adam walked Kelly back to her car where she gave him her number and a quick kiss.

The rest, as they say, is history, but now it’s time for the next exciting chapter!
